Translation & Interpreting Assocation Turkey
Established in 1998, the Translation & Interpreting Association Turkey is a professional organization representing the community of all stakeholders that demonstrate a professional responsibility in all fields of translation. Its main objectives are to ensure that the significance of translation is appreciated by society, to improve dialogue among the various constituents of the profession, and to strengthen cooperation within the translation industry.
In 2008, the Association of Translation Companies was established on the initiative of translation companies which were members of the Translation & Interpreting Association Turkey. The representatives of these companies believed that their common purposes, targets and responsibilities had to be addressed on a more specific platform, and as a result, established CID with the specific objective to support and develop translation companies, while acting in unison with the Translation & Interpreting Association Turkey, in regards to the more general activities of the translation industry.
