Types of Memberships
The Turkish Association of Translation Companies offers three membership types:
- Individual Member: : A real person who operates as a sole-proprietor and who does not have any employees is considered to be an Individual Member.
- Corporate Member: A Member qualifying as a capital company or a sole proprietorship employing at least 1 (one) person is considered to be a Corporate Member. If an Individual Members recruits and employee, their membership type will automatically be changed to Corporate Member on the date employment commences.
- Honorary Member: Those who have served with distinction or who have made a significant contribution to humanity, the country, the translation industry, the translation profession or the Association, and who are deemed eligible, may be granted a Certificate of Honor or be admitted as an Honorary Member to the Association. The conditions of Honorary Membership are as follows:
- A Board of Directors decision is necessary for the conferring of an Honorary Membership.
- Honorary Members do not pay any entrance or annual membership fees.
- The duration of the Honorary Membership will be limited to the tenure of the board granting the title.
- Honorary Members can attend General Meetings but do not hold voting rights.
- Honorary Members will not serve in committees except for the Honorary Board, Advisory Board, and Ethics Committee of the Association.
- Honorary Members will have no right to the assets of the Association. Neither will they be held liable for its obligations.
- A separate membership ledger will be kept for Honorary Members and those granted a Certificate of Honor.
