History
The Association of Translation Companies was founded in 2007 by the leading companies in the translation industry to carry out activities and regulations that will lead to the development of the translation industry in Türkiye and the empowerment of translation service providers.
2007 - Mr. Osman Kaya was elected as the charperson of the association by the founding members and served as the founding chairperson of the association and continued to work on realizing the short-term goals of the association.
2010 - Prof. Dr. Işın Bengi was elected as the new chairperson. Under the leadership of Mrs.Bengi, our association focused on the medium-term goals after the completion of the short-term goals.
2013 - Mr. Ahmet ÇALLI was elected as the chairperson of the association. Under the leadership of Mr. ÇALLI, the Association of Translation Companies continued its activities towards medium-term goals. The Academia - Translation Industry Cooperation Program was first started to be carried out in an organized manner during this period.
2015 - Mr. Rafet Saltık was elected as the chairperson of our association and under the chairpersonship of Mr. Saltık, our association continued to work towards its medium-term goals. While accelerating its medium-term goals under Mr. Saltık's leadership, it also initiated studies in line with its long-term goals under the program name "Re-Silk Road". Within this framework, working committees were established in 10 focus areas.
2016 - The Executive School Program, which was established with the aim of strengthening translation enterprises, started to provide free seminars and workshops every month for member enterprises. IKAP was another program created for this purpose.
2017 - In 2017, the membership application of Association of Translation Companies of Türkiye to the European Union Association of Translation Companies (EUATC) was approved in order to develop relations with international players. Only one NGO from each country is accepted to EUATC membership. Association of Translation Companies of Türkiye has become the institution representing our country before the representatives of the Translation Industry of EU Countries.
